PURPOSE:

The Business Intelligence (BI) application development analyst will develop and maintain the logical data models and physical data design for the SAP Business Warehouse environment, Data mart repositories and Business Objects front-end information delivery. This position will interact with end users, BIMs, PIMs, ITSS and enterprise wide technical resources to assist with the creation of technical designs from business needs. This responsibility includes the identification of data most valuable to the business, the integration of this data, and the development of correlating data models and dashboards. The resulting logical and physical data models will be based on the application of data warehouse design principles.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

+ Technical analysis, design, development, testing, enterprise wide implementation, and sustain support of decision support systems for IP’s businesses and process areas

+ Will be responsible for the full development lifecycle using SAP’s Business Warehouse, HANA and Business Objects Enterprise suite of analytic tools.

+ Information model design and data design for decision support systems and query, reporting and dashboard applications.

+ Data provisioning for the purpose of self-service analysis and consumption

+ Optimize query and reporting applications for improved performance and data loading efficiencies.

+ Requires interaction with business partners, IT business analyst team members and Information Delivery IT project leaders.

+ Develop technical designs appropriately and ensuring that the design will support future system enhancements.

+ Participates in the overall process improvement of the technical area. Analyze complex user information flows and needs to assist in evaluating alternative technical solutions that meet needs while maintaining business standards

+ Ensures that discretionary and upgrade projects are implemented for optimal SAP Business Warehouse, HANA, and Business objects technology performance and reliability as planned.

+ Provides expertise to enterprise efforts that impact SAP Business warehouse, HANA, and Business object such as Business Continuity, data modeling practices, etc.

+ Develop and support the associated interface programs to and from BI to systems such as APO, SCEM, CRM, ECC, Data Services, Business Object analytic tools, and other Non-SAP tools.

+ Requires the ability to design, trouble shoot, and resolve problems relating to integration of SAP and non-SAP data within the SAP Business Warehouse and analytic repositories.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS related program

+ A master’s degree in an IT or business discipline will substitute for 2 years of work experience in an application development IT role

+ 8+ years’ experience in a Custom Application Development IT role

+ 4+ years’ experience in Reporting Applications or Business Intelligence Data Store Application Development & Support using SAP Business object suite

+ Fundamental IT development skills required (analysis, technical design, development, testing, scheduling, monitoring, support, etc.)

+ Functional knowledge of SAP systems is strongly preferred

+ Experience with Java scripting, Java and/or Web development a plus

+ Experience with Oracle, SQL and/or other Oracle tools suite a plus

+ SAP HANA database experience a plus

+ Demonstrated success of technical implementations or cutovers for BI applications

+ Experience with Global Supply Chain, Finance, CRM or Manufacturing reporting systems

+ Strong problem solving and excellent troubleshooting skills with a demonstrated ability to design and build complex data solutions and decision support system

+ Provide sustain support services as application releases into production as directed

+ Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with customers and IT project leaders

+ Team oriented and excellent customer focus with the ability to understand business process needs

+ Collaborative manner with the ability to work closely with team members and IT leadership
