We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join the IBM CIO organization and help build and lead a squad of front-end and back-end developers who will participate in our global Agile Development practice to create cloud based solutions to realize the IBM Talent Acquisition vision.

The space of Talent Acquisition is broad and includes all aspects, from the creation of job descriptions, to candidate attraction and sourcing, to the overall management of the hiring, interviewing and selection process. Your end users will be other IBMers across the world who are involved with these aspects. You will have the opportunity to make global impact and you too could some day be a user! You will use the latest technologies, from AI and Data Science to Containerized Cloud based solutions.

Your Role and Responsibilities As Software Engineer, you will work in an agile CI/CD based development process. You will be responsible for translating system requirements into the design and development of customized systems in an agile environment. You will be required to bring together end to end applications starting from front end web development, back end development, middleware integration and persisting data in a backend store noSQL or Relational. You will work with IBM Cloud and AI technologies. You will be able to work on design, development methodologies and architecture with your squad as well as other IBM squads. Additional responsibilities include:

+ You will participate in the overall project planning via Agile practices of Backlog grooming, Iteration Planning and Playback sessions with Product Owners, Designers, Squad Leads, Architects as well as with the Agile Coach and Master Iteration and Project Manager + Collaborate and communicate with other team members in US and Mexico. + You will be expected to code and provide technical leadership to other squad members. You will also be expected to code review the work from your squad and other squads and participate in the source committer process. + You will work on existing components as well as new components. You are expected to innovate and add value to either existing or new components + You will be familiar and understand development pipelines and the various stages from unit tests to e2e integration tests and performance validation. + In true DevOps fashion, you will be responsible not just for the development of, but for the operation of the system. From instrumentation of system health and user adoption metrics to the establishment of monitoring processes and dashboards. + You will utilize and create modern cloud based micro-service architectures utilizing modern security practices to ensure proper access control across the system + Separation of concerns and well established API contracts is of vital importance. You will be responsible for defining or improving REST APIs and maintain consistency and reusability across the system. + You will be responsible for establishing sound data persistence practices utilizing Relational and NoSQL databases as well as underlying middleware integrating with other "system of record" systems. + You will use IBM Design Thinking practices in the development practice + You will have an inquisitive curious mind, challenge others when needed and provide innovative ideas while upholding the IBM values + At the end of the day, you will be a key member of the global technical team with a large responsibility for overall Squad's success, velocity and ability to deliver committed work on time

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

+ Fluent English communication skills are required as is a proven track record and ability to have delivered software products / projects. Demonstrable relevant experience in the following areas: + Linux + Java + JavaScript + Web Architectures (HTTP, HTML, Web Browser Runtime, REST APIs, etc) + Performance concepts (Profiling, Responsiveness, Scalability, Caching, etc) + Security concepts (Authentication, Authorization, etc) + Development best practices acquired from experience during software deliveries (Architecture, Components, Micro-Services, Source Control / Build workflows, etc) + Cloud based deployment models (such as Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, IBM Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Cloud) + Persistency (SQL based or NoSQL based...)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

+ Java Spring Framework + NodeJS + AngularJS + React + Build processes and tooling (Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc) + GraphQL, OpenAPI, etc + Queue based processing such as Kafka + Iteration Planning (ZenHub, Trello, Jira, etc)
